A workshop was also held on Intellectual Property Rights (with emphasis on the law governing trademarks and copyrights). There was an illustrious panel comprising of Mr. I. M. Chagla, Senior Advocate, Mr. R. M. Kadam, Senior Advocate and Mr.Himanshu Kane, Advocate. The demand for workshop was such that all the interested members could not be accommodated.
Mr. Kane spoke on the concept and types of IPR, the registration procedures, the challenge procedures and the Intellectual Property Board.
Mr. I. M. Chagla, Senior Advocate, enlightened the participants on passing of action and the jurisprudence in that regard.
Mr. R. M. Kadam addressed the members on action for infringement as also jurisdiction of courts, registration authority and Intellectual Property Board.
The workshop was very well attended and very well received. Nearly 200 participants participated in the workshop. The session ended with a series of interesting questions posed by the members to the faculty.
