The members bid an extremely emotional and warm farewell to Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. J. Vazifdar, (who was prior to his elevation, a member of our Bar) on his transfer to the Punjab and Haryana High Court where he would be the Chief Justice (Acting). The Bar Room was overflowing with members standing on their toes. As Justice Vazidar entered, all the members gave him a standing ovation. This was repeated again after Justice Vazifdar addressed the members. The President Dr. Milind Sathe, Senior Advocate, congratulated Justice Vazifdar and warmly recollected the days when Justice Vazifdar was a member of the Bar. The Honorary Secretary Dr. Birendra Saraf said that apart from all his judicial qualities, the members of the Bar will miss his warm smile from the Bench. The learned Judge remembered with extreme fondness the years he spent in the Bombay High Court, both as a lawyer as well as a Judge. A visibly emotional Justice Vazifdar warmly met all members who had queued up to wish him.
